Effective Ad Tips

 

Placing an ad on HotRodPartsBrokers.com has been made as easy and painless as possible. This screen has been placed here to 1) point out some items that you need to know before you start the ad submission process and 2) give you the rundown on the mechanics of placing your ads on the website.

Sorry but registration is necessary to post any ads on the website. If you are searching or buying then you are not required to but you may register if you like. Registration is free and we don't use any of your info for anything other than the website. We don't have enough time to try to sell someone's personal data just so some else can SPAM them.

Start your ad process before you get to the actual screen! There are some things you need to know before you start your ad so here we go:

Preliminary Notes

  1. You are allowed a maximum of 10 images for each ad, but you needn't use any images if you choose not to.
  2. Each image needs to be no larger that 500 pixels by 500 pixels in size.
  3. Each image should not exceed 65k in filesize.
  4. The description of the ad item(s) can be up to 1000 characters. This is an important part of the ad process because most folks will sit and read the entire ad and yet balk at sending you an email asking questions about the sale item(s). Point is that you need to describe the item(s) in a way that will inform the possible buyer and make them want to contact you.
  5. If you need to change the size of your image (or images) and don't have the software or training needed to do so then we have just the thing for you! Click on the link at the end of this sentence and you will be taken to our nifty (and free) Image Resizer website where you can change the images you want to post here. [link to Image Resizer]

How to place an ad on HotRodPartsBrokers.com

  1. Login to your account near the middle of the home page.
  2. Click on 'Post Ad'
  3. Select a 'Main Category' from the drop down list
  4. Select a sub-category by clicking on it and then clicking on the 'Next' button
  5. Choose the days and any image options you need
  6. Click on 'Continue To Next Section'
  9. Here is where you upload the images,
    1. Click on 'Browse' and then navigate your way to where you have the image saved, click on the image and then click 'Open'
    2. At this point you will be returned to the page where you started with the Browse button, be sure to click on the 'Preview/Attach' button before continuing or the image won’t be sent to the server
    3. Once the image is uploaded you will get a popup telling you the image is attached, click on 'OK'
  12. At this point you will be taken to the actual ad page where you can fill in anything you want to say about the item. You only need to fill-in the blanks with the red mark next to them.

Once you are happy with the ad, click on 'Post Ad' to put it online.

It will not be on the site until it is approved.
